Prostate Cancer Symptoms - Knowledge Every Man Must Have

If a man is experiencing recognizable prostate cancer symptoms, normally the disease has spread beyond the prostate gland. Couples and Sexuality - Seven Steps to Learning the Language of Sex to Improve Your Sex Life

What is the language of sex? It is not a language we learn at home, or in school. It is a language that we learn by trial and error, or not at all. Did you know that learning how to talk about sex can improve your sex life? The language of sex has traditionally been an unspoken language as far as talking goes, but the body language has remained strong behind closed doors. The language of sex has either consisted of silence or scandals. Just the thought of having an open talk about sex instills fear in many people.

We are taught to be uncomfortable talking about our personal sex lives. Sex is taboo, and has been for about 1300 years. We may whisper about sex and romance to our best friends, chat online or read about sex, but sex remains largely a sinful subject. And yet we openly talk about who is sleeping with Brad, Angelina, Jen, or Ben in the tabloids, on talk shows, on TV. The media and Hollywood versions of sexuality is not a fair or realistic commentary about what happens in the bedroom.

With all that said, it can be very important for you to be able to talk with your partner or communicate in some way about sex so you can have a good sex life. So how can you and your partner begin to break taboo and talk about sex in a way that can lead to a better sex life? As a sex therapist, I teach people how to communicate openly about sex and their sexuality. So what are seven steps to speaking the language of sex that you can start learning today? The following steps are a beginners handbook on learning the language of sex.

Step 1: Give yourself permission to learn the language of sex. No one taught you how to speak it before; its a fantastic time to learn now. Work through the fear, because you have a right to have a happy sex life!

Step 2: Make a list of what you already know about sex. Whether it is one thing, ten things or a hundred things, just jot down some notes about it.

Step 3: Think about the things that you most enjoy doing sexually. Write down your top 3 things you like to do sexually. If you are unsure of what those are, think back to your favorite experiences that involved any kind of intimate touching.

Step 4: Try reading the list aloud to yourself about what you enjoy sexually. You can also add in what else you would like to try sexually.

Step 5: Think of ways that you could share your needs with your partner. Practice saying aloud: What I really enjoy is when we.. (you fill in the blanks; its your sex life after all!)

Step 6: Invite your lover to a romantic date so that you can start practicing the language of sex with Them

Step 7: You can use a variety of techniques to get your message across. Start slow and go easy at first. You can write a short note for them to read, or whisper in their ear, or show them what you enjoy with your body. Think about the ways your partner likes to receive things, and what they respond to.

Learning the language of sex may be a bit awkward in the beginning, but it gets easier and you may find that the sex gets hotter and hotter for you and your lover, because you are both able to have more of what you enjoy. When you are ready, you can ask a question or two of your partner to find out what they like and what really turns them on. Then, you will really be cranking up the heat.

Dressing Right for Outdoor Sports

Looking good should not always be the only reason for choosing the right clothes. You should always consider comfort and protection as equally important reasons. Having comfortable clothes would help you enjoy whatever activity you are engaged in by allowing you to move well. On the other hand, clothes should protect you from the harsh elements such as extreme heat cold and wind.

For outdoor activities, there are particular clothes that are appropriate to wear. To help you choose the right clothes here are some tips based on a particular outdoor event.

Polo Events

Since this activity would usually be held on open grounds, you would be exposed to warm and sunny conditions. Because of the nature of the activity, it would be smart to wear a Ptarmigan or a medium-weight jacket. These jackets would protect you from injuries like scratches and bruises. Aside from this, these jackets would contain functional pockets where you can place personal items without affecting comfort. For pants, you should choose a durable yet comfortable material like tweed or corduroy.

Fishing

The most important factor to consider when looking for appropriate clothes for fishing is the protection it can provide you. To protect you from the water, you should wear a bank vest, neck wrap and bug cap. You can protect your hands and head by wearing brimmed hats, wrist warmers and fingerless gloves. Jason Taylor was born on September 1, 1974 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although Taylor had a successful high school career, he did not get many scholarship offers from major colleges. So he decided to take his game to the University of Akron, located in Akron, Ohio. While at Akron he began to show the same time of athleticism as he did in high school, and by the time his college career was finished many NFL scouts had begun to take notice.

The Miami Dolphins selected Taylor with the 73rd overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft. Although many teams passed up on his services more than once, this did not get Taylor down. He knew that he could compete at the NFL level, and he began to show this early on in his career.

In 2006, Taylor had his best season ever. He finished with 13 sacks, two interceptions, and 10 forced fumbles. This led to him being named the AP Defensive Player of the Year.

Jason Taylor is the perfect role model for young players who may be flying under the radar. Although he did not get a lot of attention out of high school and college, Taylor still found a way to realize his dreams.

Movement, Muscles and Machines

Sport encourages the integration of the whole organism because it is necessary to think as we move and plan ahead. In performing each movement in response to the run of play, we use mechanisms that nature evolved for the purpose of survival in a hostile world. Sport is todays equivalent of the hunting, fighting and avoidance of predators that kept our ancestors alive. The skills developed in our past are essential in todays sport; accuracy, speed, strength and intelligence are all requirements for success.

We have come to believe that the stronger a muscle the better, without a thought to what we actually do with a stronger muscle. I am not advocating we should do nothing, or that all exercise is harmful. The important issue is why we exercise and what is it we hope to achieve? If we want to get fit, ask the question - fit for what? When did you last review your objectives for devoting so much time and effort to its pursuit?

To help achieve optimum performance it is useful to understand the physiology involved so you do not misuse your body. All movement, even of the smallest part, involves the total organism yet many exercise systems fail to recognise the integral nature of human function. Exercises have always been designed to achieve specific improvements for one part of the body in the belief it will benefit the athlete for the particular demands of their sport. My view is that the concentration on individual parts whilst performing these exercises destroys the unity of the organism necessary for good movement.

Getting into shape usually involves a trip to the local gymnasium with its staggering array of equipment. A combination of technology and clever marketing has transformed the dull exercise machine into an essential piece of equipment capable of achieving miracles. Todays machines have made it possible to work individual muscles in isolation - the first-time gym user will often joke they ache in muscles they did not know existed. Unfortunately, in the rush to develop the ultimate range of equipment, I believe a vital factor in human development and movement has been overlooked. That is, no single movement involves either an individual or isolated set of muscles! Machines that work a muscle whilst immobilising or supporting part of the body, encourage unnatural actions never to be repeated outside the gymnasium, sports scientist Dr Mel Siff wrote: -

".it is well known in physiology that the body knows of actions, not muscles, so that it is inappropriate to place any intentional stress on individual muscles rather than on the desired motor patterns."

Even the harmless looking treadmill does not replicate natural activity. Running on a moving surface employs a different combination of muscles when compared with road running. Chuck Wolf, the director of sport science and human performance for the U.S.A. Triathlon National Training Center in Florida acknowledges this problem with the exercise machine saying,

" our love of machines has caused us to lose sight of the way the body functions. Machines are ideal for multiple repetitions of the same movement patterns along a single plane. Unfortunately, that's not how we move."

Too much emphasis is placed on muscle and hence exercises to improve strength at the cost of neglecting the systems that control them. Complex machines are able to analyse the strength of individual muscles in specific movements. However, these machines do not measure the body during natural activity. Problems are then identified with the suspect muscle and exercises prescribed to correct the condition. But what causes the weakness initially? Why is a muscle weak or too tight? A muscle can only do what it is told to do and as we do not have the ability to directly control a muscle we cannot be certain of what we are actually telling it to do. The offending muscle is only performing its function as directed by the controlling mechanisms for which we ultimately carry the responsibility. When the police stop a speeding motorist they prosecute the driver not the car!

This is not to say that gymnasiums are harmful - far from it! It is how we approach the use of a gym's equipment that is vital. They do offer an opportunity to develop body awareness and strength but the temptation is to focus on the specific muscle being exercised whilst ignoring how the whole body can be used. For example, it is common to see people gritting teeth, straining neck muscles and arching their back when using machines to work the biceps. All this unnecessary action is not going to help build the biceps but it will develop poor muscular habits that will affect other activities. If used with the total body in mind these exercises will develop every other muscle appropriately as they are needed to stabilise the frame. So rather than looking to build the abs, biceps and quads separately, be aware of their involvement on every machine.

More recently other gadgets have started to appear on the market that promise to improve balance and proprioception (our ability to sense the position, location and movement of the body and its parts). But do these devices really help to improve performance in your sport? Or do you just acquire a new skill such as balancing on a swiss-ball that may be fun but does nothing to help your game? So what can you do to improve your golf-specific balance? Play golf. There is not a gadget or exercise which will improve your golf-specific balance like playing golf. Why? Because nothing can duplicate the demands of playing golf other than playing golf. I know, it sounds silly doesnt it. If you look at other athletes in any sport from martial arts to gymnastics to hockey, youll find that they simply perform their sporting skills over and over to acquire their amazing balance skills. They dont rely on silly, useless gadgets. If you were a tightrope walker, would you practice on a wooden beam or stand on a stability ball. Of course not, because it would not duplicate the demands of tightrope walking. The rope has its own feel and sway that nothing else but a tightrope can duplicate. So if you want to improve your golf-specific balance, play golf.

So perhaps to get the best from the gymnasium we should take our time to use the machines with total awareness of the actions involved (avoiding distractions such as the gym TV or listen to music ). And perhaps ask whether the action encouraged by the machine is a 'natural' one. Will I ever be hanging at an angle where I need to perform a sit-up? It may strengthen the abdominals for that movement, but do I need it? How will it benefit my body as a whole?

The Need To Perform

I can't believe how much of the year has gone by, but all the same, it's unbelievable how much I've grown through the year and most of it, from demolishing my need to perform.

I grew up playing a lot of hockey, being captain of both my schools when I was in Nigeria and London. The highlight of my career came when I was 10 on a wonderful warm day when we were playing an outdoor hockey game. Apparently I did some really cool skill with the stick and the ball. Everyone was like wow and clapping. I didnt really understand what I did, but nevertheless it was great and I learnt something. The entire sports department were talking about it for weeks. By the way, at that point, I went on to just shoot and watch the ball roll into the goal.

That is and will remain to be an unforgettable moment for me as everyone was congratulating me for the goal and my skillful moment. However, my attention was taken in another direction. In the stands, I saw my mum. I ran up to her, and she said, That goalie never had a chance. Hearing those words, and sensing that appreciation was a real awesome feeling, and from that grew my need to be appreciated.

Needs generally come from our experiences from childhood and perhaps they are something we really wanted, and never got. All our parents certainly did the best they could and for that we are really grateful. About 95% of the human population is driven by needs, but the extent to which your particular need drives you may be the deciding factor in how successful you are.

If we relate this to the music world, from a young age, you may have never really got the opportunities you may have liked to perform and so from that grew your need to perform. When our needs are unchecked, they act as engines, driving us to behave in ways that we believe will lead to the experience of having our needs fulfilled.

When a need exists, it is either conscious or unconscious. As humans, we are the only species in this universe that are conscious that we are conscious. We are the only species that are aware that we are aware. And as humans, we are constantly striving to meet our needs. This consumes a lot of our energy. What we need to do is really understand where our needs come from and eliminating these dynamics will transform your entire life.

My need of appreciation only made me strive to be appreciated so that I can be told that Im good and feel good. But that doesnt seem to last long as after a few seconds I need to feel good again. This wasnt really making me happier, just draining a lot of energy out of me. Its important to understand the energy we create when we have a need present in our lives. Think about when somebody gives you a call only when they need you. How does that make you feel?

When you are coming from a place of need, this is the kind energy you are giving off and thus this is the type of energy you attract back to you. Sometimes when you think that your need has gone and youre very clear about what you want to attract into your life but you still feel stuck, it is probable that if you dig deep, there is still a need that has a grip on you. Without addressing the need, we will continue to create the same problem (in different forms) until we eliminate the need.

Common needs that Ive seen are the need to be liked, the need to be heard, the need to sing, the need for security, the need to have money, etc. What are your needs? What is it that you want to do, and if you dont you get upset? What do you strive to do, but although you get the result, it takes a lot of energy out of you? These are your needs. It is good to know them. Most people go through life like this, really having a need and not able to live their true, free selves. You know better. Needs are easy to see and feel, yet we are usually blind to their influence on us. If you look closer, you can find that hold. A good way to identify a particular need is to consider these questions..

1. What are the patterns of problems in your life?

2. Where do you feel most stuck?

3. What causes you to get upset most?

4. Ask someone to say what they see at work within you.

By recognising and eliminating the need of appreciation, Ive been able to create my life on purpose and in harmony with my desires instead of feeding a childhood wound.
